Short bio note
Stefano Zardini was born into the profession: his grandfather started his career as a photographer in 1892, his grandmother Antonia, was a war photographer during the Great War, and his father, Roberto, was a front-line correspondent on the river Don and during the devastating Italian retreat from Russia in World War II.
What Stefano received from them is an intellectual honesty that denoted his personal and professional life.
He was a freelance photoreporter for over 20 years, documenting wars and emergency situations in more than 60 countries worldwide. All these experiences permanently shaped his way of conveying contemporary suffering and enhanced his sensitivity towards all issues of disparity.
This "vision" also shines through many of his fine-art photography works.
Today, fine-art photography is what kept Stefano professionally the most busy in the last years. His works are found in many private collections in Europe and beyond.
